Biography
Claudio Román Godoy received the professional degree in Biomedical Civil Engineering and the Ph.D. degree in Engineering Sciences, with a major in Electrical Engineering, from the Universidad de Concepción (UdeC), Concepción, Chile. Currently, he is an academic in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Universidad del Bío-Bío, Concepción, Chile. He has taught courses related to programming, signal and image processing, computer vision, and artificial intelligence. His research interests include medical image processing, neuroimaging, brain connectivity, tractography, and machine learning applied to biomedical data. In particular, his work focuses on the analysis of brain magnetic resonance imaging and diffusion imaging to study brain structure and connectivity, including the development of superficial white matter fiber atlases and the assessment of brain integrity in neurodegenerative diseases and cognitive impairment. Additionally, his research promotes interdisciplinary collaboration among engineering, neuroscience, medicine, and data science, with applications aimed at supporting the study, diagnosis, and monitoring of clinical conditions.
